Authorities in the Dominican Republic say they have uncovered the second largest marijuana plantation in the country's history.
The spokesman for the National Drug Control Agency says agents confiscated 14,830 marijuana plants that were hidden in a cornfield in a town just east of the capital.
Roberto Labron says two Dominicans and three Mexicans from the state of Sinaloa were detained on Tuesday.
He says the three Mexicans stated they were hired by an unidentified person to care for the plantation.
