Dominican Watchdog Note | "Like Father, Like Son"!! This is the undisputed result of a country who do not spend money on education - PRD is a complete joke and Hipolito ran the country into sub zero last time he tried. Give us a F....... break the whole world is watching your morons behave like 3rd class citizens!! Hipolitos term ended with the deepest economic crisis in the modern history of the Dominican Republic and that's a fact so no reason to listen more to him!!

This is exactly what I would expect from the so-called police in Santo Domingo.

This is precisely why this bunch of thugs and "delinquentes" have to go. Does the Dominican population need any more proof that neither Hipolito nor anyone associated with him is fit to lead? I can't wait until this is all over on Sunday. Montesino,

US media cover the DR elections

DR1.com - Business Week (Bloomberg), the Chicago Tribune (Reuters), focus on what "change" means in the lead-up to the Sunday, 20 May election in the Dominican Republic. With a former President, Hipolito Mejia trying for a comeback against the ruling party candidate, former Fernandez chief of staff Danilo Medina, the promise of change is contradictory in the election this year. Dominicans have evidence that many of the same questionable faces and key government men figures will continue or come back, regardless of who wins the election.

The media focus on the 7% continued growth of GDP of the Dominican Republic, now eight years under the Fernandez administration, and the fact that the First Lady, Margarita Cedeno is running for Vice President. It also focuses on how international polls seem to favor the PLD's Danilo Medina winning in a first round.

Dozens of international media outlets have received accreditations for covering the election.
