Santo Domingo Assistant DA gunned down and killed near her house - National District Assistant DA Giselle Odalisa Reyes was gunned down while heading home last night in a residential street of the municipality Santo Domingo East, after to returning from a nearby restaurant.

The victim, 31, was assigned to the National District Office of the Prosecutor around eight months ago and had held the same post in Monte Plata and twice in Santo Domingo provinces. She had four children.

The preliminary Police report says Reyes was returning from the restaurant with her assigned bodyguard, a Police sergeant, when two unidentified men intercepted them in the street Eugenio Maria de Hostos, and shot her in the chest.

It said 14 shells were recovered at the scene, one of them fired the bodyguard, according to his own version.

The sergeant is being questioned because before the shooting, he had went to Reyes’ house to ask if she had already arrived.
