DominicanToday.com - Police investigators on Wednesday dismantled a clandestine motor oil factory whose operators swindled hundreds of motorists who bought the lubricants with forged labels of different brands, placing their vehicle engines at risk.
Caught in the raid in the resort town Boca Chica was Francisco Javier Almánzar, who figures with two Police rap sheets for different crimes.
Seized in the bootleg factory were labels with the name Shell; 8,000 blue and green plastic motor oil canisters with 509 new caps,and 30, 55 gallon tanks, four of them full of lubricants.
In another raid in the Respuestos M&T auto parts, on Las Americas avenue the agents also seized 111 canisters full of lubricants marked with the popular brands Kendal and Shell.
