Man Wanted In 2008 Death Arrested In Dominican Republic
Federal authorities said they traveled to the Dominican Republican to arrest a man suspected in the 2008 shooting death of a Rock Hill woman.

The U.S. Marshals Service said agents arrested Carlos Luis Pinelas-Mejia on Thursday in the Dominican Republic.Mejia is charged with murder in the death of Amber Schiavone, whose body was found in an apartment in January 2008. The 22-year-old had been shot once.U.S. Marshal Kelvin Washington said local and federal authorities are waiting for hearings for Mejia to be extradited to South Carolina.The marshals said more than 2,500 South Carolina fugitives were arrested in the last fiscal year through their Operation Intercept program.
