Another Agent Killed as Chilling Attacks Grip Dominican Republic – Metropolitan Transit Authority (AMET) agent Carmen Torres Báez, 41, on Monday became the latest victim in a chilling wave of attacks on law enforcement officers gripping the entire Dominican Republic during the last few months, usually to steal their weapon by gunmen on small motorcycles. Torres, mother of four, was gunned down on the Maximo Gomez bridge to Villa Mella around 7:15am as she was walking to work. The Police 2nd Lt. Assigned to the AMET was allegedly shot by two young men who robbed her regulation firearm. (Dominican Today).

Dominican Watchdog Note - Comments from readers of DominicanToday below shows everybody are tired of this shit in DR. If our younger generation is raised without the fear of God, how do we expect them to have fear of man's law?
For assault on law enforcement officials, the ultimate price should be paid.

actually, i feel the same gut reaction that all of the above posters do, and i sympathize with the loved ones of this poor soul. however, after having gone through the initial shock of receiving the news, one needs to examine what we are looking at.

killing a government servant is a manifestation of rejection of authority, and a failure to recognize the state as having legitimate authority to act as the government. it is a statement reminiscent of anarchy on the part of certain elements. as this phenomenon becomes more repetitive, it is a signal that the state in being confronted by elements with no agreement about its right to govern, and are prepared to embark on sabotage campaigns. these are nor simply guys looking for guns to jack bancas, folks

Dread may have a point here that needs to be investigate since last week the AMET was in confrontation with public car drivers and the fearless union represented by Hubieres. Why would anyone just killed a person without having ever any sort of confrontation with that person. It is insane to think that these two guys just wake up today with the intention to kill an officer to still their in broad date light, it just doesn't make any sense to me. But then again whom am I, I am just a good respectful citizen.

The rational:

NARCO Lie-onel, Felix Bautista, Víctor Díaz Rúa and the PLD steal 100s of millions of Pesos and are not even investgated; and if they are then they go after the prosecutor because she points out the the judge hearing the case is as corrupt as the criminals being in these uneducated Minds the thought is what's the big deal if I steal a gun!
